About the event
Marianismo, rooted in the image of the Virgin Mary, traditionally emphasizes female virtues like selflessness, family devotion, and unwavering strength. While these are admirable qualities, Marianismo can sometimes limit Latina potential by prioritizing others over ourselves. The reality is, Latinas are a powerhouse. We are CEOs, artists, scientists, and community leaders. We are redefining what it means to be a Latina today.
This Women’s History Month, let’s embrace the positive aspects of Marianismo – resilience, nurturing spirit, and unwavering support for family. Let’s shatter limitations and celebrate Latinas who defy stereotypes and pursue their dreams, all while holding dear the cultural values that uplift us.
